and for that...we thank you!

Lets step back a couple days... Happy Memorial Day!

A special thanks to all the past and present men and women who have given their lives and continue to fight for us everyday! We couldn't be more proud and thankful! We celebrated this weekend in your honor!

This weekend was full of sun.. a little bit too much for my fair skin but its definitely necessary! Because my parents were gone this weekend I was lucky to be invited to the Yacht Club with Mike's family. Just beautiful. I take this view for granted...
Here is Mollie!... enjoying some watermelon and my shades on her first Memorial Day. Such a cutie pie!
Here is Claire in her cute little suit!
Mike, Kyle aka Shrek (Mike's friend) and Big T were busy fishing all afternoon and caught quite a bunch...all shapes and sizes. Yuck!

(Thanks Big T for sending some of these pics!)

I wasn't brave enough to bare the cold lake but Miss Claire wasn't! She's a fish and shows me up everytime! Claire, Mike, Meg and their cousin went swimming while I turned more lobster-like. Oops!

I think this is one of the few pics me and Meg have together...how did that happen?!

After full bellies and fun in the sun...we had a successful Memorial Day Picnic at the lake!

Theres no place like home...except when theres a tornado?

On my drive home after subbing today I drive through what appears to be whats left after a tornado. Yes, a tornado in Upstate New York. Crazy I know! But thankfully only parts of our county had severe damage. Look at these pics!
Throughout the day I had no idea this thing was even coming let alone know what it was going to do! All I knew and could see was the rain and that didn't last very long. So on my drive home I saw leaves and small branches all over. As I neared my house I could see more and more damage. It was like a domino effect...One telephone pole down, the others came along for the ride too. I look to my right at a farm. Something looked a little off...Oh it was just totally collapsed! I felt so sorry for all the cattle trapped inside...Luckily later the news reported only a couple were severely injured : ( poor things. I then look at another barn on the property and a good portion of the metal roof was off and across the road. I look to my left and a trailer roof was also torn off. It was something I have never seen before and hope to never see again. What I saw was awful and I cant even imagine living through or witnessing a severe tornado as others have! The weather was so severe for a period of time that Seneca County was in a "state of emergency" and "there should be no unnecessary travel..." oh darn it just turns out I had class tonight... but seriously the roads and the weather was scary and I couldn't drive through it again. And so the repairs of the homes and property continues... Thankfully we had no damage on my end! My poor Luke was alone during this storm. He hates being separate from us, let alone being in a huge wind/hail/rain storm. He will surly sleep good tonight in his bed he loves so much. Such a baby. But I wouldn't change one thing...
